Hello and Welcome

I guess I started this community because I was getting kind of irritated with some of the goings on at the love it or hate it site of Television Without Pity.

When I find myself getting irritated, the best thing for me to do is make light of the situation.  Because it is afterall just a website, and in the grand scheme of life, it doesn't amount to much.  So I decided to start this community where people could go and poke fun at some of the crazy shit that goes on in there.

So if you've come here to unleash a vitrol assault on a poster, mod, recapper, whoever, don't waste your breath.  This is not a community to bash or berate anyone or anything on that site, it's just rude.  Yet sometimes the things that go on in there are just weird and crazy and since you can't boards on boards there, I figured this would be a nice place to ramble about the craziness of it all.

A Good Post : [link to twop wacky poster post] Heh, this poster thinks that Peter Petrelli needs to be shirtless and wet all the time, what a goof.  It really bugs me that sometimes the fangirls overrun the episode thread--discuss

A Bad Post: [same link as above]  This poster is such a crack smoking stupid bitch.  People like her make me want to go on a shooting rampage of all fangirls  DIE DIE DIE.

So please make yourself at home.  For right now I'm going to preview all the posts, just to avoid anything that might be a legal issue.  Oh and I'm a control freak too.  Depending on how the community goes I will probably swtich the mod preview off.

Re: I got Banned

Haven't got banned yet, but I think, it's just a matter of time....

And while I miss some discussions with some of the people there, I certainly won't miss the concending mods. I especially love the "PERMANENT warning" I got for using an @ in one of my posts:

"What on earth does using @ in front of someone’s name accomplish that simply using their name doesn’t? We use standard English here, not text or Twitter-speak. If that is uncomfortable for you, this may not be the site for you."

And no, I don't regulary use netspeak at all, just the @. I and a lot of other posted used it for days until another poster asked/complained about it and a certain mod decided that the no netspeak rules apply. When a reminder was posted, I even went through my posts and edited them. But either I missed one, or I made a typo. And got a damned permanent warning for it.

I'm frankly stumped what's considered boards on boards and what isn't. I tend to use phrases I already read on the board, since I'm not a native speaker, and I figured, that this way I won't write something offensive. After all, it's difficult to figure out the right tone, you can easily come over stronger than intended, especially when you post in a different language.

But I have already gotten two permanent warns for using phrases I read on the very same board. It seems like mod N. has a different idea what's Boards on Borads than mad H. But both of them are going way to far in my opinion. And I don't think that they archieve anything. Because, frankly, by now I'm tired of the so called rules. I don't care anymore. It has become kind of a game for me: How long can I post in my usual manner until I get banned?

Especially when I see things like the post of mod H. in the suits forum. Yes, the discussion how realistic the basic setting of the show is was slightly annoying. I didn't participate in it, I figured that sooner or later people would be either ready to get over it or not watch the show. But no, mod H. had to lay down the law regarding the issue. No talk about it, unless it gets adressed in the actual episode. Well, guess what, it gets adressed in nearly every episode. Because it's the main premise of the show. So what's the point telling people not to discuss it?

What's the point in shutting down the Castle thread for a day because appearently the mod decided that the discussion went in circles? Discussions always go in circles at one point, but as long as it stays friendly and everyone has fun, what's the harm?

Well, perhaps I'll stay away from the threads N. moderades - it looks like she is even worse than mod H. is.
